Development and validtion of an instrument for the systematization of nursing assistence provided to hospitalized adolescents

Resumo: This methodological research was carried out in the pediatric clinics of a hospital school in the city of João Pessoa, PB. It aims to elaborate and validate an instrument for the Systematization of Nursing Assistance (SNA) provided to hospitalized adolescents. The study was performed in three steps: 1) identification of empiric indicators concerning Basic Human Needs in hospitalized adolescents; 2) development of responses regarding diagnosis/results and nursing interventions; 3) formatting and validation of an instrument for the SNA, following all the steps of the nursing process. Specific indicators concerning the adolescents' needs were obtained through literature review and were validated by assistant nurses and docents. Such indicators were used to elaborate affirmative responses regarding diagnosis/results and nursing interventions and were, later on, used to build the instrument to be validated. The final version was elaborated after the validation, considering its relevance for the assistant practice. We expect that the construction of this instrument represents an advance in the implementation of the SNA, facilitating the communication and the recordings of the nursing assistance, and turning it more effective and visible to clients and other professionals of the health team.

El estudio fue realizado en tres etapas: 1) identificación de los indicadores empíricos de las Necesidades Humanas Básicas en adolescentes hospitalizados; 2) desarrollo de las afirmativas de diagnósticos/resultados y de intervenciones de enfermería; 3) formatación y validación del instrumento para la Sistematización de la Atención de Enfermería, incluyendo todas las etapas del proceso de enfermería. La revisión de la literatura para identificar las necesidades de los adolescentes resultó en la obtención de indicadores específicos para adolescentes, que fueron validados por enfermeras asistenciales y por docentes. A partir de dichos indicadores fueron desarrolladas afirmativas de diagnósticos/ resultados e intervenciones de enfermería, utilizando la CIPE®, que fueron posteriormente utilizadas en la construcción del instrumento para ser validado. Tras dicha validación fue elaborada la versión final del instrumento, considerando su relevancia para la práctica asistencial. Se espera que la construcción de tal instrumento sea un avance en la implementación de la SAE, facilitando la comunicación y el registro de la asistencia de enfermería, haciéndola más efectiva y visible para la clientela y para los demás profesionales del equipo de salud del hospital.Trata-se de uma pesquisa metodológica realizada na Clínica Pediátrica de um hospital escola, na cidade de João Pessoa-PB, com o objetivo de construir e validar um instrumento para a Sistematização da Assistência de Enfermagem para adolescentes hospitalizados. O estudo foi realizado em três fases: 1) identificação dos indicadores empíricos das necessidades humanas básicas em adolescentes hospitalizados; 2) desenvolvimento das afirmativas de diagnósticos e resultados e de intervenções de enfermagem; 3) formatação e validação do instrumento para a Sistematização da Assistência de Enfermagem, contendo todas as fases do processo de enfermagem. A revisão da literatura para identificar as necessidades dos adolescentes resultou na obtenção de indicadores específicos para adolescentes, os quais foram validados por enfermeiras assistenciais e docentes. Com base nesses indicadores, foram desenvolvidas afirmativas de diagnósticos/resultados e intervenções de enfermagem utilizando a CIPE®, que foram posteriormente utilizadas na construção do instrumento para ser validado. Após essa validação, foi elaborada a versão final do instrumento, considerando sua relevância para a prática assistencial.
