Resumo: This study presents the use of GIS in spatial analysis of hotel business in the city of Belo Horizonte. For this study we used spatial autocorrelation statistics: global Moran I index and the kernel density surface. Licensing data were obtained at the hotels in the Secretaria Municipal Adjunta de Regulação Urbana (SMARU). The results indicate that hotel business presents significant agglomeration in South-Central regional, which can be explained by the form of occupation of the city, which occurred in the central area to the periphery, and the concentration of economic activities in the region is creating a center business of great importance to the county. In other administrative regions not marked positive autocorrelations were found. From this result, it was possible to understand how the spatial distribution of these hotels both in regional South-Central regional as others.

Para este estudo utilizou-se as estatísticas de autocorrelação espacial: índice global de Moran I e a superfície de densidade kernel. Os dados de licenciamento dos hotéis foram obtidos na Secretaria Municipal Adjunta de Regulação Urbana (SMARU). Os resultados indicam que a atividade hoteleira apresenta aglomeração significativa na regional Centro-Sul, que pode ser explicada pela forma de ocupação da cidade, que ocorreu da área central para a periferia, e pela concentração de atividades econômicas nessa região, criando um centro comercial de grande importância para o município. Nas demais regionais administrativas não foram encontradas autocorrelações positivas marcantes.
