Resumo: O artigo explora questões relativas à interface entre contratos internacionais eletrônicos e direito internacional privado. Na atualidade, graças à internet, relações comerciais transfronteiriças que poderiam ser impensáveis se tornam possíveis. Contudo, pelas próprias especificidades da internet, contratos contendo elementos de conexão trazem dúvidas quanto à determinação da lei aplicável ou mesmo quanto à validade e à compreensão de sua formação, dentre outras. Diferentemente da extensa agenda normativa estabelecida pela Comissão das Nações Unidas para o Direito do Comércio Internacional sobre o tema, o Brasil necessita avaliar as iniciativas existentes e projetar soluções necessárias para a garantia da segurança jurídica nesse campo.

Today, thanks to the internet, crossborder commercial transactions, previously unthinkable, become possible. However, as to the inherent specificities of the internet, contracts having connecting factors offer bring questions related to determination of law applicable or even validity issues, among others.
