Contemporaneity influences the use of bodies, affecting social relationships, cultural dynamics and play. In this sense, it is necessary to problematize the interrelationships between contemporary society, playful culture and its body techniques, developed by traditional games. Thus, this exploratory study aims to understand the role of play in cultural dynamics, emphasizing the creative processes and the impact of historical periods and their socio-cultural contexts on body techniques, evidenced from traditional games. The close relationships between society, body techniques, play and toy, in the midst of the creative processes of co-construction and resignification of playful culture by children, were noted. Therefore, it is clear that the changes coming from contemporaneity are impacting, because by changing times and spaces, they transform traditional games, causing complex chain reactions over the years and significant changes in the expression and use of the body in play and, consequently, in body techniques.
