Resumo: In this article, we present some problematizations about the notion of a faggot child seen from the exhibition “Queermuseu: cartographies of difference in Brazilian art”, promoted by Santander Cultural in Porto Alegre, and censored in September 2017, after a few months on display. To understand the historical and political context of such an exhibition, we resort to an explanation of the meaning of the expression queer and some possibilities of its use, even in the Brazilian context, either as a concept and area of academic studies, or as an expression used to refer to identity positions that question heteronormativity. We chose to highlight two works presented in this exhibition that allow a reflection on the critical potential of artistic production and its historical character. This approach, as well as the choice of the theme, was due to the relevance of the discussion in a context of the production of moral panics associated with sexual and gender diversity, particularly when related to a stage in the course of life that has not yet been critically thought about: childhood.
