Resumo: | The article derives from a master's research whose proposal was to give visibility to the way in which trans children are made visible by a certain Brazilian media, taking as a reference the case of Coy Matthis, aired by Rede Globo's Fantástico program in 2018. The problem presented revolves around a certain visibility given to this trans child that puts her in a dysphoric condition in relation to her biological body, to the binarisms given as a precondition for analysis by the specialists and to the condition of normality and happiness given to this child. child linked to the adjustments of his body to the social scripts expected of his gender, placed as necessary in the analyzed Program. In this circumstance, it is observed that there is a trans child “invented” within a still binary paradigm, coined as “trans” by adults and specialists who, within their adult-centric and binary perspectives, see and classify Coy’s dysphoric condition. From a dialogue with the studies of gender and sexuality and above all from a Queer approach, the precocity and arbitrariness of this denomination are indicated: precocity because it is a child in the full initiation phase of his life and arbitrariness because that name should come exclusively from the child himself. It is suggested to think of the child within a “neutral” and queer paradigm, through which the child could be “x”, “@” and “e” without pre-defined binary attributions. |
