A notícia da onda de suicídio em Bonito (MS): reflexões currículo-pedagógicas a partir da religião, do jornalismo e das políticas de saúde.

Suicide is portrayed here as a social phenomenon that has plagued humanity for many centuries and which in contemporary times, especially with the Covid-19 pandemic, has worsened. Seeking a better understanding of this phenomenon, a news item published in the digital newspaper Campo Grande News was analyzed about a series of suicides that occurred in the city of Bonito (MS), at the beginning of 2023. The objective of the analysis was to open a discussion on the topic suicide from sociological aspects and, for this, the subject was developed with approaches in the area of religion, journalism and public health. From this cultural artifact, the journalistic news, which was selected taking into account the theme, the public reach and the social markers of the difference in its content, it was possible to extract the curricular-pedagogical characteristics of the report. Such characteristics were observed within power relations through their agents, their forms of action, disciplinary instruments and regulations. The observations made, from post-critical perspectives, such as Foucault's, revealed a production of knowledge coming from the health area and propagated by the press that legitimizes power through a discourse of truth. It was found that both in form and in its content the news propagated a knowledge-power arising from a discourse produced by health institutions that represents a disciplinary instrument that aimed at individual control, in addition to group action represented by the State which controlled and promoted life through standards, manuals, booklets, bulletins and censuses published periodically by various public health bodies.
