This article, entitled "Graduates of Youth and Adult Education in higher education: an analysis based on dissertations", sets out to analyze dissertations on Youth and Adult Education (EJA) in higher education. The general objective of this work is to analyze what the research echoes about the relationship between graduates of the EJA and the continuity or discontinuity of this public in their studies. The entry of these individuals into public or private institutions has largely been boosted by programs and actions aimed at guaranteeing access to education for all. However, the unevenness of opportunities corroborates the accentuation of social inequalities, directly impacting on the conditions of access and permanence in higher education. To this end, the study analyzed five dissertations selected from the database of the Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations. The methodology used in this study was bibliographical and documentary research, and the nature of this work was defined as exploratory-descriptive. As a result, we identified that the dissertations point to the need for actions and policies that guarantee not only access, but above all, permanence in higher education, since there are still conditions that need to be reorganized and that contribute to the discontinuation of studies by graduates of the EJA. The educational structure urgently needs to take a closer look at the specificities of the working classes, especially students in this category.
