This work aimed to study the historical profile of forest fires in the Chapada dos Guimarães PARNA the period 2010 to 2015. The Chapada dos Guimaraes National Park is located on the border of the cities of Cuiabá and Chapada dos Guimarães - Mato Grosso. The data presented in the study were obtained from the Fire Occurrence Records (ROI) from 2010 to 2015, provided by the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio) as well as additional information by the management of the fire. In the period 2010-2015 were registered 30 fires, with an average of 5 incidents per year. The total area burned during the study period amounted to 22,361.070 acres, representing 68.52% of the total park area. The months from August to September stood out in relation to the total occurrences of numbers, totaling 76.67% of the total. The most propitious time to occurrence of fire was between the 12 and 17 hours. The main causes were of criminal origin and burning for cleaning, totaling 46.67% of all occurrences, but most burned area extension is due to the use of fire to pastures cleaning by residents around the Park. If the introduction of an environmental education policy providing awareness of surrounding communities is necessary and tourists as well as the expertise to determine the real causes of forest fires in the park, as well as improvements in the prevention and fire-fighting system.
