The function of a pavement in a road is provide safe and comfort on vehicle traffic, this characteristics are assured for the proper maintenance and periodic of pavement structure. The study of conditions about suface shows, through pré-established evaluation method, the actual functional performace of pavement and check the requirement of interventions in the structure in order to keep the usefulness. In this work, a stretch of the Universitária Avenue, that it from MT – 100, was submitted to the Overall Severity Index evaluation and to the sand spot test, so that, with the both tests results were possible to provide maintenance activities on the road and them were efficient to correct the existing pathologies, keep the surface on good conditions of use and extend the useful structure life. According to objective assessment, the road of Pontal – UFMT way, that presented surface wear pathologies and patches, added values up of IGI which characterize the sub-section 1 and 2, with IGG concept regular and good, respectively; the spot test application presented the texture of these subsections showed thick or very thick, exceeding the maximum values recommended to the satisfactory surface texture; the proposed intervention solution to this way was the resurfacing with the CBUQ coating to correct this failure and extending the pavement’s useful life. The road on UFMT – Pontal way, had the IGG concepts great, as on sub–section 3 as on sub–section 4, and the surface wear pathologies and patches had showed only on specific points on the road, however,, with the sand spot test, was noticed a insufficiently rough texture; the proposal of intervention indicated toward this road was the aplication of asphalt mud, in order to increase coating adhesion on this section, aiming to provide greater safe on vehicle traffic.
