The surface texture of an asphalt coating is of fundamental importance in a pavement, since it covers aspects such as good rolling quality, establishes a good contact between the tire and the pavement, ensures a good flow of water through the surface, in addition to ensuring transportation is carried out in a safe, smooth, comfortable and economical way. Thus, it is essential to determine the macrotexture conditions of a coating, as a result of being one of the essential properties of a pavement surface. In this work, it was carried out through the sand stain test, the study of the macrotexture of urban pavements with different types of covering in the municipality of Barra do Garças - MT, with three pavements covered in CBUQ and three pavements covered in TSD. Based on the analyzed data, it was concluded that only two sections coated with CBUQ had medium surface texture, having ideal conditions according to the DNIT criteria. All three sections coated in TSD and one section coated in CBUQ had a very open or coarse surface texture, and for these cases, a recovery is proposed through the application of asphalt mud or a layer of asphalt microcoating in order to recover the surface texture of the pavement already worn.
