We are essentially communicative and expressive beings, characteristics that denote our survival. Among the forms of communication, non-verbal stands out, it is an expressive language and is present in body expressions. This work aimed to present a bibliographical research about shame and humiliation as an interference of body expression, as well as its importance for the teaching-learning of physical education classes and the establishment of effective communication. Emotions are manifested in different ways through body reactions and each body movement performed can convey meanings and information, which can complement verbal language, contradict or go beyond. Body expression is nothing more than the sum of all the expressions of our body and, in the school environment, it is seen as an element of pedagogical practice that seeks the development not only of motor skills, but also of imaginative and creative capacity and that, For both teachers and students, body language is critical for communication as well as understanding. The feeling of shame as a factor of inhibition of body expression prevents students from participating in physical education classes through the insecurity generated, negatively influencing student learning and performance.
