Dificuldades dos profissionais de enfermagem no enfrentamento a Covid-19

The objective of this study was to identify the main difficulties of the nursing team in relation to the care demands of patients during the period of the new coronavirus pandemic in Brazil. For this, a literature review was carried out in the main databases in the health area, from the reading of the selected articles, it was possible to list the main difficulties of nursing professionals in coping with COVID-19 and the possible strategies adopted to alleviate the effects of the pandemic on these health professionals. The results showed that nursing professionals who are in charge of caring for COVID-19 cases faced physical and mental exhaustion during the pandemic, difficulties in decision-making and anxiety due to the pain of losing patients and colleagues, in addition to the risk of infection and the possibility of transmitting it to family members. In addition to these problems intensified by the pandemic, these professionals also faced terrible working conditions, unfavorable environments for the exercise of their profession, overload, intense pace with strenuous hours, professional devaluation with low remuneration, in addition to a very high level of occupational stress associated with and interpersonal conflicts. These events resulting from the pandemic can generate illness processes, difficulties and challenges for professionals who work in direct assistance to patients hospitalized with COVID-19. Therefore, it is necessary to promote strategies to prevent the physical and mental illness of these professionals, with a view to minimizing the adverse effects caused by the pandemic.
