Performance of the nursing team on the frontline against Covid-19: an integrative literature review

Resumo: | Nursing occupies a prominent place in health, both nationally and internationally. The professional nurse has decision-making skills and is proactive, with regard to recognizing the needs of care and attention and protection of society, as well as promoting the population's health in its various aspects. This article aims to describe the importance of nursing work on the front line against COVID-19, outlining the risks and challenges faced by nurses in the face of the pandemic. This is an integrative literature review, with data searches carried out in the following databases: Scielo, Lilacs (DECS): pandemic, nursing; challenges; risks, articles published in the period from 2019 to 2022 were included in the work. Being called heroes, this struggle must be recorded in the history of nursing, as it was an important class in the pandemic period and continues to be not only in the fight against Covid-19. 19 more also in several areas. Nursing has a very important role that ranges from the identification, analysis of suspicious cases, collection of material for exams, guidance on the importance of social distance in addition to care for patients with a positive diagnosis for Covid-19. Given the above and the obstacles experienced during the Covid-19 pandemic, nurses are able to perform their duties well within health institutions. Recognizing this fact makes it possible to implement strategies and take measures that reduce the negative impacts of the pandemic, bringing recognition and showing the importance of these professionals in health services. |

El profesional de enfermería tiene capacidad de decisión y es proactivo, en lo que respecta a reconocer las necesidades de cuidado y atención y protección de la sociedad, así como promover la salud de la población en sus diversos aspectos. Este artículo tiene como objetivo describir la importancia del trabajo de enfermería en la primera línea contra el COVID-19, destacando los riesgos y desafíos que enfrentan las enfermeras frente a la pandemia. Se trata de una revisión integrativa de la literatura, con búsquedas de datos realizadas en las siguientes bases de datos: Scielo, Lilacs (DECS): pandemia, enfermería; desafíos; riesgos, se incluyeron en el trabajo artículos publicados en el período de 2019 a 2022. Siendo llamados héroes, esta lucha debe quedar registrada en la historia de la enfermería, ya que fue una clase importante en el período de pandemia y lo sigue siendo no solo en el lucha contra el Covid-19 19 más también en varias áreas. La enfermería tiene un rol muy importante que va desde la identificación, análisis de casos sospechosos, recolección de material para exámenes, orientación sobre la importancia del distanciamiento social además de la atención a pacientes con diagnóstico positivo a Covid-19. Dado lo anterior y los obstáculos experimentados durante la pandemia de Covid-19, las enfermeras pueden desempeñar bien sus funciones dentro de las instituciones de salud. Reconocer este hecho posibilita implementar estrategias y tomar medidas que reduzcan los impactos negativos de la pandemia, trayendo reconocimiento y evidenciando la importancia de estos profesionales en los servicios de salud.A enfermagem ocupa lugar de destaque na saúde, tanto em âmbito nacional como no internacional. O profissional enfermeiro possui habilidades de tomada de decisão sendo proativo, no que diz respeito ao reconhecimento das necessidades de cuidado e atenção e proteção a sociedade, assim como na promoção de saúde da população em seus diversos aspectos. Este artigo tem como objetivo descrever a importância da atuação de enfermagem na linha de frente conta a COVID-19, traçando os riscos e desafios enfrentados pelos enfermeiros frente a pandemia. Trata-se de uma revisão Integrativa da literatura, com as buscas dos dados realizado nas bases de dados: Scielo, Lilacs (DECS): pandemia, enfermagem; desafios; riscos, foram incluídos no trabalho artigos publicados no período de 2019 a 2022. Sendo chamados de heróis, essa luta deve ser registada na história da enfermagem, já que foi uma classe importante no período pandémico e continua sendo não só na luta contra a Covid-19 mais também em diversas áreas. A enfermagem tem um papel de grande importância que vai desde a identificação, análise de quadros suspeitos, coleta de material para exames, orientações sobre a importância do distanciamento social além dos cuidados aos pacientes com diagnostico positivo para Covid-19. Diante do exposto e dos obstáculos vivenciados durante a pandemia da Covid-19, os enfermeiros conseguem desempenhar bem suas atribuições dentro das instituições de saúde.
