The world is undergoing many changes, including in public administration. Current governments have used information technology resources to meet the requirements of efficiency, bureaucracy and transparency of their actions. The present work intends to demonstrate the importance of the use of the Pregão in the hirings, which seeks greater efficiency and celerity in the purchases made by the public entities. It is noteworthy the significant growth, in the scope of the public administration, the use of the presence and electronic trading as bidding modality. In this way, the present study highlights the effectiveness of the implementation and use of the Public Offering in relation to the purposes sought by the Public Administration and for which it was created, among them, reduction of bureaucracy and costs, flexibility, increase of publicity, and , mainly to make procurement and contracting processes more transparent. This study demonstrates how the use of the Pregão can add new values to the bidding processes, giving greater efficiency and agility, besides reducing costs and the time of the procedure of the same ones.
