The purpose of this study was to measure and evaluate noise levels at a bus stop in the city of Cuiabá, the capital of the state of Mato Grosso. For this, noise levels were determined at three different locations of the stop located on Avenida Fernando Corrêa da Costa, in front of the Federal University of Mato Grosso-UFMT. Noise parameters stipulated by the Brazilian Standard NBR 10151/2020 were used for the study. Measurements were conducted using the B-MAX decibel meter, covering three daytime periods for two days in February and two days in March 2024. The results found that noise levels at the three locations of the studied bus stop exceeded the limits set by NBR 10151/2020, registering values above 60 dB (A). Thus, it is concluded that the average noise levels exceeding 80 dB (A) identified at the studied location suggest a potential negative influence on the health of those who frequent these public spaces. It is worth noting that, depending on the duration of exposure, these elevated noise levels can lead to significant public health problems.
