Resumo: This article aims to discuss how the curriculum prescribed by the Curricular Guidelines for the State of Mato Grosso was presented to the Mathematics teachers of the state Basic Education Network of the city of Sinop (MT). For this, we present a brief review on curriculum and continuing education. Subsequently, adopting a qualitative research perspective, based on formal documents and interviews of the Focal Group type, with three groups of teachers – trainers, managers and teachers –, we show that the lack participation of the teachers in discussions of curriculum guidelines, as well the limitations of the trainers and of the training dynamics adopted, accentuates the distance between theory and practice in continuing education, contributing for the teachers to see themselves as receptors of the curricular proposal and solitary to face the difficulties of implementing the prescriptions of the said curriculum in the classroom.

Para isso, apresenta-se uma breve revisão sobre currículo e formação continuada.
