MODELING IN SCIENCE TEACHING TO PROMOTE LEARNING ABOUT UNIVERSE

Resumo: Observation and contact with different types of living organisms contribute to the learning nature science concepts. However, it is not always possible to provide this approximation with some forms of life due to geographical conditions. The aim of this study was to analyze whether the modeling of invertebrates as a didactic resource is capable of promoting the construction of science learning. This descriptive and exploratory study took place in the second half of 2019 and involved 52 students from the 7th years of elementary school at the State School Professor Maria Esther Peres, in Vila Rica / MT. It was proposed to build representational models of the organisms belonging to the 8 phyla of invertebrates and their respective habitats. After socializing the material produced, the students answered a questionnaire containing 12 questions that served to evaluate the activity. The concept, criteria for differentiation and importance of invertebrates, the contributions of modeling, difficulties encountered and the assessment of activity were identified. Therefore, using modeling in science education was a didactic strategy that contributed to the construction of learning about invertebrates.

Contudo, nem sempre é possível proporcionar essa aproximação com algumas formas de seres vivos devido às condições geográficas. O objetivo desse estudo foi analisar se a modelização de invertebrados como recurso didático é capaz de promover a construção de aprendizados de ciências. Esse estudo descritivo e exploratório ocorreu no segundo semestre de 2019 e envolveu 52 estudantes dos 7º Anos do Ensino Fundamental da Escola Estadual Professora Maria Esther Peres, de Vila Rica/MT. Foi proposta a construção de modelos representacionais dos organismos pertencentes aos 8 filos de invertebrados e seus respectivos habitats. Após a socialização do material produzido, os estudantes responderam um questionário para avaliar a atividade, contendo 12 questões. O conceito, critérios de diferenciação e importância dos invertebrados, as contribuições da modelização, dificuldades encontradas e a avaliação da atividade foram identificadas.
