SCIENTIFIC LITERACY: AN ANALYSIS OF ACTIVITIES DEVELOPED IN THE FINAL YEARS OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Resumo: A study was made based on the development of remote classes considering the context of the covid-19 pandemic in 2020, which greatly limited the actions of basic education teachers. The focus of the study was the possibility of promoting Scientific Literacy (AC) during classes, with the use of pesticides as the main theme. More specifically, the study evaluated the contributions of the didactic actions developed to contemplate the scientific literacy indicators proposed by Sasseron (2008) and which are the most favored in the activities carried out. The text describes the seven activities developed during the meetings and which were sent via WhatsApp. The research was developed with students of the seventh year of Elementary School from two public schools in Rio Grande do Sul. This qualitative participant research aimed to identify the presence of AC Indicators in the perspective of Sasseron (2008) in the activities developed. Since the analysis of the activities indicated the presence of CA indicators, pointing out that promoting learning situations focused on reflection, critical thinking, reading and research can contribute to the formation of citizenship even in a remote teaching context.

El enfoque del estudio fue la posibilidad de promover la Alfabetización Científica (CA) durante las clases, con el uso de pesticidas como tema principal. Más concretamente, el estudio evaluó los aportes de las acciones didácticas desarrolladas para contemplar los indicadores de alfabetización científica propuestos por Sasseron (2008) y cuáles son los más favorecidos en las actividades realizadas. El texto describe las siete actividades desarrolladas durante las reuniones y que fueron enviadas vía WhatsApp. La investigación se desarrolló con estudiantes de séptimo año de la Escuela Primaria de dos escuelas públicas de Rio Grande do Sul. Esta investigación participativa cualitativa tuvo como objetivo identificar la presencia de Indicadores de CA en la perspectiva de Sasseron (2008) en las actividades desarrolladas. Dado que el análisis de las actividades indicó la presencia de indicadores de AC, señalar que promover situaciones de aprendizaje enfocadas en la reflexión, el pensamiento crítico, la lectura y la investigación puede contribuir a la formación de la ciudadanía incluso en un contexto de enseñanza a distancia.A pesquisa foi realizada a partir do desenvolvimento de aulas remotas considerando o contexto da pandemia vivenciado no ano de 2020 e que limitou muitas das ações realizadas pelos professores da educação básica. O foco do estudo esteve na discussão sobre a possibilidade de promover a Alfabetização Científica (AC) durante as aulas, tendo como tema gerador o uso de agrotóxicos. De forma mais específica, o estudo avaliou as contribuições das ações didáticas desenvolvidas para contemplar os indicadores de alfabetização científica propostos por Sasseron (2008) e quais os mais favorecidos nas atividades realizadas. No texto são descritas as sete atividades desenvolvidas durante os encontros e que foram encaminhadas via WhatsApp. O estudo foi desenvolvido com alunos do sétimo ano do Ensino Fundamental de duas escolas da rede pública do Rio Grande do Sul.
