Resumo: The Game Theory (GT) is known as Strategy Science, for studying the behavior of subjects during a decision making process based on rationality. Currently, GT has applications in several areas, including teaching and education. Seeking to contribute to the insertion of GT in Elementary Education (EE), an activity of the research literature was adapted and applied to the Pedagogical Residency Program at UFMT - Sinop. This activity was developed with support in a scenario in which the participants make decisions in a dispute for the consumer market. In this paper, the results of the activity are discussed and compared on the basis of the research literature, in addition to the pedagogical aspects, taking into consideration the possibility of insertion of GT in EE through its concepts and current curricular contents, such as matrix and percentage. In the pedagogical matter, the participants’ opinion about the activity was collected by an open questionnaire, showing that the activity and GT have potential to be applied in EE. Finally, it is observed that, in the insertion of GT in EE, it is not intended to have just one more Mathematical Theory for the extensive school curriculum, but to promote the understanding of the relationships involved in game situations and, with support in them, to encourage the construction of strategies for the decision making process.
