Summary: Considering Education as teaching-learning process it is acquired throughout the life of citizens in different spaces and time. In this process, science teaching has total relevance, since it influences the scientific literacy of the subjects through the formation of these as critical and reflective citizens. In this report of experience, we analyze the possibilities of working the scientific literacy in an educational space administered by a research institution. This work is based on authors such as Rocha & Fachín-Terán (2010), Gonzaga & Fachín-Terán (2011), Cascais (2012), among others. Observations and records were carried out during practical teaching activities of a master's degree program in the Forest of Science of the National Research Institute of the Amazon. The environments provided by the above-mentioned place offer the possibility for an interdisciplinary work, because educators have the opportunity to use the biodiversity, the different ecosystems, and the local infrastructure for the construction of scientific knowledge. The valorization and use of non-formal spaces allow the student to contact the object of study so that the acquisition of knowledge occurs naturally.

Nesse processo, a alfabetização científica tem total relevância, uma vez que influencia na formação de sujeitos críticos e reflexivos. Neste relato de experiência, analisamos as possibilidades de trabalhar a alfabetização científica num espaço educativo administrado por uma instituição de Pesquisa. O trabalho fundamentou-se em autores como: Rocha e Fachín-Terán (2010), Gonzaga e Fachín-Terán (2011), Cascais (2012), dentre outros. As observações e registros foram realizados durante atividades práticas de ensino de uma turma de mestrado, no Bosque da Ciência do Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia. Os ambientes utilizados neste local abrem a possibilidade para a realização de um trabalho interdisciplinar, pois os educadores têm a oportunidade de aproveitar a biodiversidade, os diferentes ecossistemas, além da infraestrutura presente no local, para a construção do conhecimento cientifico.
