Considering Education as teaching-learning process it is acquired throughout the life of citizens in different spaces and time. In this process, science teaching has total relevance, since it influences the scientific literacy of the subjects through the formation of these as critical and reflective citizens. In this report of experience, we analyze the possibilities of working the scientific literacy in an educational space administered by a research institution. This work is based on authors such as Rocha & Fachín-Terán (2010), Gonzaga & Fachín-Terán (2011), Cascais (2012), among others. Observations and records were carried out during practical teaching activities of a master's degree program in the Forest of Science of the National Research Institute of the Amazon. The environments provided by the above-mentioned place offer the possibility for an interdisciplinary work, because educators have the opportunity to use the biodiversity, the different ecosystems, and the local infrastructure for the construction of scientific knowledge. The valorization and use of non-formal spaces allow the student to contact the object of study so that the acquisition of knowledge occurs naturally.
