Resumo: Introduction: International scientific cooperation is about collaborative work between researchers. In the health field, this collaboration is present in international research, through partnerships, networks and consortia, as a strategy to obtain and implement research funding and the collective construction of knowledge in response to public health emergencies, and, thus, contribute to the advancement of care and meet health needs in different contexts and countries. Objective: To map the evidence of international cooperation between researchers from Postgraduate Nursing Programs in the global context. Method: This is a scoping review that uses the Joanna Briggs Institute's Manual for Evidence Synthesis as its methodological reference. To search for evidence, the following databases were used: Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE/PubMed), Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied (CINAHL), Web of Science, Scopus, Cochrane, Embase, Literatura Latino-Americana and of the Caribbean in Health Sciences (LILACS), Nursing Database (BDENF), in addition to JBI Evidence Synthesis and Google Scholar as additional databases. Results: 22 pieces of evidence were included, the majority of which were published in Brazil, with cooperation mediated by a doctoral internship abroad, without specifying whether the researchers are part of a collaborative research network. Portugal and Canada were the countries that cooperated most with Brazil, notably with activities such as participation in courses and conferences, in addition to technical visits and postgraduate training activities such as disciplinary activities. The main difficulties are related to the language, financial costs and lack of financing, while the potential is the acquisition of new knowledge, skills, abilities and professional/personal attitudes, the opportunity for insertion and integration in postgraduate studies and international research, as well as in the creation of interinstitutional agreements. Most studies concluded that nursing schools need to devise strategies to subsidize postgraduate students on internships abroad, so that the nursing profession is improved globally. Furthermore, they point out that the Sandwich Doctorate is mainly responsible for strengthening networks, due to its multiple benefits. Conclusions: The results of this research may help postgraduate Nursing programs to implement and/or improve actions in their strategic planning to stimulate international cooperation and the involvement of researchers in collaborative networks. They can also outline strategies to subsidize postgraduate students undergoing internships abroad, ensuring that the nursing profession is improved globally, favoring the Sandwich Doctorate, seen as the main responsible for strengthening networks, due to its multiple benefits.
