A Libras e seus regionalismos : o registro gráfico da língua de sinais, em Mato Grosso

In recent years, Libras — Brazilian Sign Language — has been the focus of academic research from the linguistic perspective, however, the linguistic structures of this language is little known. This research aims to analyze signs used in Brazilian Sign Language by the deaf community of Mato Grosso and identify whether they can be considered regional. There is little research related to regionalisms in Libras, which makes it relevant to discuss this topic. For the development of this work, we based ourselves on the structuralist linguistics of Saussure (2012). As a methodological resource, we selected ten videos found on the YouTube channel, whose record of these lexical items in dictionaries was verified to confirm whether such signs could be considered regional. To analyze these video productions, ELAN software was used, which enabled the identification and paremological analysis of Libras. To record and describe the corpus, we used VisoGraphy, sign writing proposed by Benassi (2019) and presented from the adaptation of the model proposed by Marinho (2016) and Sousa Junior (2018), in which it was possible to describe the parameters and paremes of the lexical items. Through the analysis and description, we identified 79 signs as hypothesized regionalisms, which were divided into eight lexical-semantic groups related to day-today information. We observed that the technological signs are the ones that have less previous records in dictionaries, in addition, it was noticed the occurrence of morpheme records that acquired new semantic value, as well as new combinations of morphemes for the creation of new signs. We consider that there is a need for further studies in regionalisms area, contributing to the linguistic knowledge of the deaf community of Mato Grosso.
