ANÁLISE DE ERROS NO CÁLCULO DE PERÍMETRO E ÁREA DE FIGURAS PLANAS NO ENSINO MÉDIO

Resumo: This research has as main objective to analyze the errors made by students of a third year of high school, in a educational institution of Rio Grande do Sul, in calculating perimeters and areas of plane figures, to develop methodological strategy to overcome difficulties. As specific objectives, we proposed to: 1) detect and analyze the errors made by students; 2) interviewing teachers about the causes of the errors; 3) develop a product to assist students from high school to review the contents of perimeter and area. Research has qualitative character and was conducted with 22 students of a third year of high school, to which was applied a test composed of geometry questions on calculation of perimeters and areas. Also a questionnaire was applied to 25 teachers of basic education, who expressed their opinions about the causes of errors and strategies to overcome them. The literature review took into account texts on error analysis in general and on teaching geometry in particular. The error analysis was performed in three steps and the errors detected were analyzed and classified. Also teachers' responses were analyzed, indicating their opinions about the errors. Through the data collected, it was realized that the students who participated have many difficulties with elementary school content, especially algebraic manipulation and visualization of figures elements. On the opinions of the teachers about the most frequent categories of errors, most of them considered that the lack of attention, knowledge and interpretation of the issues are the causes of the errors found. As a product of this research, it was built a learning object that addresses the contents worked, perimeter and area of plane figures, with contextualized issues.

As a product of this research, it was built a learning object that addresses the contents worked, perimeter and area of plane figures, with contextualized issues.A presente pesquisa tem, como objetivo geral, analisar os erros cometidos por alunos de um terceiro ano do Ensino Médio, em uma instituição de ensino do Rio Grande do Sul, no cálculo de perímetros e áreas de figuras planas, para elaborar estratégia metodológica para superar dificuldades. Como objetivos específicos, propõe-se a: 1) detectar e analisar os erros cometidos pelos alunos; 2) entrevistar professores sobre as causas dos erros; 3) elaborar um produto para auxiliar alunos de Ensino Médio a revisar os conteúdos de perímetro e área. A investigação tem caráter qualitativo e realizou-se com 22 alunos de um terceiro ano do Ensino Médio, aos quais foi aplicado um teste composto por questões de Geometria, sobre cálculo de perímetros e áreas. Também foi usado um questionário, aplicado a 25 professores da educação básica, que opinaram sobre as causas dos erros e sobre estratégias para superá-los. A revisão de literatura levou em consideração trabalhos sobre análise de erros, em geral, e sobre ensino de Geometria, em particular. A análise dos erros realizou-se em três etapas e os erros detectados foram analisados e classificados. Também as respostas dos professores foram objeto de análise de conteúdo, sendo indicadas as suas opiniões sobre os erros cometidos. Pelos dados coletados, percebeu-se que os estudantes participantes apresentam muitas dificuldades com conteúdos do Ensino Fundamental, especialmente de manipulação algébrica e de visualização dos elementos das figuras. Sobre as opiniões dos professores a respeito das categorias de erros mais frequentes, a maior parte deles considerou que a falta de atenção, de conhecimentos e de interpretação das questões são as causas dos erros encontrados.
