Analysis of the ethnomathematical connections in the elaboration and commercialization of Chinese rice in the south of the department of Atlántico, Colombia

Resumo: | The ethnomathematical connections in the elaboration of Chinese rice in the municipality of Suan, Atlántico, were analyzed. The research is qualitative and was developed in three stages where a Chinese cook and rice maker was selected. Subsequently, semi-structured interviews were conducted with the participant to collect the information and, finally, the data was analyzed based on the conceptual framework. The results evidenced the mathematics used by the Chinese rice cook when carrying out measurement processes using unconventional and conventional measurement units such as cup, handful, ladle, liter, pound, quarter, half, hour and equivalences between units of measures. In addition, ethnomathematical connections were recognized, relating the cup with the contents of the curriculum and in marketing, measures such as the spoon, the plate and the box are used. These findings are useful for creating tasks to link mathematics with its sociocultural environment. |

La investigación es cualitativa y se desarrolló en tres etapas donde se seleccionó un participante cocinero y elaborador de arroz chino. Posteriormente, se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas al participante para recopilar la información y, por último, se analizaron los datos con base en el marco conceptual. Los resultados evidenciaron las matemáticas usadas por el cocinero de arroz chino cuando realiza procesos de medición usando unidades de medidas no convencionales y convencionales como la taza, puñadito, cucharón, litro, libra, un cuarto, un medio, la hora y equivalencias entre unidades de medidas. Además, se reconocieron conexiones etnomatemáticas relacionando la taza con los contenidos del currículo y en la comercialización se usan las medidas como la cuchara, el plato y la caja. Estos hallazgos son útiles para crear tareas para vincular la matemática con su entorno sociocultural.Foram analisadas as conexões etnomatemáticas na elaboração do arroz chinês no município de Suan, Atlântico. A pesquisa é qualitativa e foi desenvolvida em três etapas onde foi selecionada uma cozinheira e arrozeira chinesa. Posteriormente, foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas com o participante para coleta das informações e, por fim, os dados foram analisados com base no referencial conceitual. Os resultados evidenciaram a matemática utilizada pelo arrozeiro chinês ao realizar processos de medição utilizando unidades de medida não convencionais e convencionais como xícara, punhado, concha, litro, libra, quarto, meia, hora e equivalências entre unidades de medidas. Além disso, foram reconhecidas conexões etnomatemáticas, relacionando o copo com os conteúdos do currículo e no marketing são utilizadas medidas como a colher, o prato e a caixa.
