THE PLACE OF LANGUAGE IN A TRANSDISCIPLINARY CONTEXT OF METHODOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS IN HIGHER EDUCATION IN ENGINEERING

Resumo: | This article aims to discuss the place of language in a context of methodological innovation in higher education in engineering. The data come from interviews with professors and students who participated in curricular projects based on the PBL (Project Based Learning) methodology at the MIEGI (Integrated Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering and Management) at the University of Minho. The analytical movements are undertaken from the conception of Dialogical Discourse Analysis, from the theoretical perspective of the Bakhtin Circle, New Literacy Studies, and Active Learning Theories. The analyzes indicate that, when training is based on active methodologies, language practices gain a prominent place undertaken collectively – beyond the disciplinary margins – procedural, integrated, and complex in the training of engineers. |

Los datos provienen de entrevistas con profesores y académicos que participaron en proyectos curriculares basados en la metodología PBL (Project Based Learning) en el MIEGI (Máster Integrado en Ingeniería y Gestión Industrial) de la Universidad de Minho. Los movimientos analíticos se emprenden desde la concepción del Análisis Dialógico del Discurso, desde la perspectiva teórica del Círculo de Bajtín, los Nuevos Estudios de Alfabetización y las Teorías del Aprendizaje Activo. Los análisis indican que, cuando la formación se basa en metodologías activas, adquieren un lugar destacado las prácticas lingüísticas emprendidas colectivamente –más allá de los márgenes disciplinarios– procedimentales, integradas y complejas en la formación de ingenieros.Este artigo tem como objetivo discutir o lugar da linguagem em um contexto de inovação metodológica na educação superior em engenharia. Os dados provêm de entrevistas realizadas com professores e acadêmicos que participaram de projetos curriculares pautados na metodologia PBL (Project Based Learning) no MIEGI (Mestrado Integrado em Engenharia e Gestão Industrial) da Universidade do Minho. Os movimentos analíticos são empreendidos a partir da concepção da Análise Dialógica do Discurso, sob a ótica teórica do Círculo de Bakhtin, dos Novos Estudos do Letramento e das Teorias Ativas de Aprendizagem. As análises sinalizam que, quando a formação é pautada em metodologias ativas, as práticas de linguagem ganham um lugar de destaque empreendido de forma coletiva – para além das margens disciplinares – processual, integrada e complexa na formação de engenheiros.
