THE CHALLENGES AND POTENTIAL OF EMERGENCY REMOTE TEACHING: AN ANALYSIS OF EXPERIENCE OF THE INSTITUTO FEDERAL DO PIAUÍ

Resumo: This article seeks to discuss emergency remote teaching at the Instituto Federal do Piauí, based on the students' experience, in order to identify the challenges and potential of this form of teaching. The study used a quantitative-qualitative approach, having as a data collection instrument an online questionnaire applied to 76 students from the third years of the Technical Courses Integrated to High School on the Oeiras, Paulistana and Picos campuses. The results obtained showed that the main challenges for Professional and Technological Education students refer to the development of teaching strategies that can facilitate the learning process and that provide their engagement in the development of study practices, in addition to environmental and psychological factors that proved necessary for the realization of this model. The potentials revealed that students are able to perceive remote teaching as necessary in the pandemic context and that, after adapting, they were able to develop greater autonomy in relation to their learning process, expand technological knowledge and develop new study strategies. It is concluded, therefore, that analyzing remote teaching requires the understanding of numerous variables that interfere in this process, so that it is possible to advance in the attempt to build new paths for the educational process.

El estudio utilizó el abordaje cuanti-cualitativa, teniendo como instrumento de colecta de datos un cuestionario online aplicado con 76 alumnos de los  terceros años de los cursos Técnicos Integrados ao Ensino Médio dos campi Oeiras, Paulistana e Picos. Los resultados obtenidos apuntaron que los principales desafíos para los alumnos de la Educación profesional e tecnológica se refieren al desarrollo de estrategias de enseñanza que pueden facilitar el proceso de aprendizaje y que proporcionen su compromiso no progreso de las prácticas de estudio, sumado a adaptaciones ambientales y psíquicas que se mostraron necesarias a la efectuación de este modelo. Las potencialidades revelaron que los estudiantes consiguen percibir la enseñanza remota como necesaria al contexto pandémico y que, APÓS adaptaciones, ellos pudieron aumentar su autonomía en relación a su proceso de aprendizaje, ampliar sus conocimientos tecnológicos y fomentar nuevas estrategias de estudios. Se concluye por tanto, que analizar la enseñanza remota requiere la comprensión de innúmeras variables que interfieren en este proceso, para que sea posible avanzar en la tentativa de construir nuevos caminos para el proceso educacional.Este artigo busca discutir o ensino remoto emergencial no Instituto Federal do Piauí, a partir da experiência dos discentes, com vistas a identificar os desafios e as potencialidades desta forma de ensino. O estudo utilizou a abordagem quanti-qualitativa, tendo como instrumento de coleta de dados um questionário online aplicado com 76 alunos dos terceiros anos dos Cursos Técnicos Integrados ao Ensino Médio dos campi Oeiras, Paulistana e Picos. Os resultados obtidos apontaram que os principais desafios para os alunos da Educação Profissional e Tecnológica referem-se ao desenvolvimento de estratégias de ensino que possam facilitar o processo de aprendizagem e que proporcionem o seu engajamento no desenvolvimento das práticas de estudo, somado às adaptações ambientais e psíquicas que se mostraram necessárias à efetivação desse modelo. As potencialidades revelaram que os estudantes conseguem perceber o ensino remoto como necessário ao contexto pandêmico e que, após adaptados, eles puderam desenvolver uma maior autonomia em relação ao seu processo de aprendizagem, ampliar os conhecimentos tecnológicos e desenvolver novas estratégias de estudo.
