Resumo: This article presents a research on the continuing education of a group of teachers from the Public Elementary School Network in Schools in the South of Santa Catarina/SC. The research aims to verify the knowledge of Neurosciences before and after the continuing education course on Neurosciences and Education. The professors participated in training studies distributed in four meetings of four hours each and offered between December 2019 and February 2020, in which they were exposed to current knowledge in Neuroscience and Education, as well as on the factors influencing child brain development, the critical periods of learning in childhood, neuroplasticity, brain maturation, memory, emotion, affective bonds and learning. Action research was adopted as a methodological procedure. As a result, we recognize continuing education as essential for improving education.
