Departamento de Educação, Instituto de Ciências Humanas e Sociais, Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto.Esta pesquisa visa compreender como é realizado o trabalho pedagógico sobre a temática da diversidade étnico-racial em duas escolas privadas confessionais do município de Belo Horizonte, mais especificamente, como a Lei nº 10.639/03 está sendo incorporada nas práticas educativas dessas instituições; verificar como implementamos dispositivos legais que estabelecem o trato com a diversidade e a pluralidade cultural na educação nacional. Seu objetivo principal é identificar os desafios, os limites do trabalho com essa temática e contribuir para a elaboração de subsídios pedagógico e teórico para a formação de professores. A metodologia seguiu a abordagem qualitativa na modalidade estudo de caso. Como instrumento na coleta de dados foi utilizado um questionário, a fim de construir um perfil dos sujeitos investigados, bem como a compreensão que possuem da Lei nº 10.639/03; como também entrevistas semiestruturadas com os profissionais selecionados nas duas escolas pesquisadas: professores, coordenadores pedagógicos e bibliotecários. Outros sim, alguns documentos foram obtidos durante a pesquisa, tais como, planos educativos de aula e provas. Os dados foram analisados à luz de estudos teóricos sobre pluralidade cultural, multiculturalismo e das relações étnico-raciais. Em virtude da especificidade do campo de investigação, também foram utilizados documentos da Igreja Católica referentes à questão educacional em relação ao trato da diversidade. Os resultados apontam para um cenário em que foi possível identificar práticas pedagógicas com a temática da diversidade étnico-racial, embora tenha ocorrido resistências referentes à implementação da legislação supracitada bem como as dificuldades encontradas no campo empírico. Ficou evidenciado que os documentos eclesiais sustentam as bases da realização de uma educação para a diversidade e que a concepção humanista do fazer pedagógico está presente nos projetos educativos. Por fim, a pesquisa contribuiu para compreender os desafios e avanços na implementação da Lei nº10.639/03 em sua relação como universoThis research aims to understand how the pedagogical work on the theme of ethnic and racial diversity in two denominational private schools of the municipality of Belo Horizonte, more specifically, how the Act N. 10.639/03 is being incorporated in the educational practices of these institutions; check how to implement the legal provisions that establish the deal with diversity and cultural plurality in national education. Its main goal is to identify the challenges, the limits of working with this issue and contribute to the elaboration of pedagogical and theoretical grants for teacher's training. The methodology followed the qualitative case study mode. As data collection instrument was used a questionnaire, in order to build a profile of the subjects investigated, as well as the understanding that feature of Act N. 10.639/03; as well as semi-structured interviews with selected professionals in two schools: teachers, pedagogical coordinators surveyed and librarians. In addition, some documents were obtained during the search, such as lesson plans, educational and evidence. The data were analysed in the light of theoretical studies on cultural plurality, multiculturalism and ethnic-racial relations. Due to the specificity of the research field, were also used documents of the Catholic Church concerning the educational issue in relation to the deal of diversity. The results point to a scenario in which it was possible to identify pedagogical practices with the theme of ethnic and racial diversity, although resistance has occurred regarding the implementation of the abovementioned legislation as well as the difficulties encountered in empirical field. Was evidenced that the ecclesial documents support the bases of the carrying out of an education for diversity and the humanist conception of teaching is present in educational projects.
