Resumo: | Slangs are lexical units that highlight sociocultural traits and identify individuals in relation to certain social groups. This scientific paper aims to discuss the theoretical precepts of linguistic variation and present didactic contributions to the study of slangs in memes on the social network Instagram, as a Spanish teaching tool. The methodology used consists of bibliographic research, with a qualitative approach. We draw on theoretical precepts about linguistic variation and language teaching (Camacho, 2011; Faraco, 2002; Faraco, 2008), and about the meme genre on the internet (Barbosa, 2017). Secondly, we presented considerations about the exploration of memes in Spanish teaching and learning activities for Brazilian students, in the light of studies of linguistic variation. Knowing elements that characterize Spanish linguistic norms helps the learner to develop his awareness of the linguistic and cultural diversity of his language and the language he seeks to learn. |

Este trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar uma reflexão sobre os preceitos teóricos da variação linguística e apresentar contribuições didáticas para o estudo de gírias em memes da rede social Instagram, enquanto ferramenta de ensino de Espanhol. A metodologia utilizada consiste em pesquisa bibliográfica, com abordagem qualitativa. Valemo-nos de preceitos teóricos sobre variação linguística e ensino de línguas (Camacho, 2011; Faraco, 2002; Faraco, 2008), e sobre o gênero meme na internet (Barbosa, 2017). Em um segundo momento, apresentamos considerações sobre a exploração dos memes em atividades de ensino e aprendizagem de Espanhol para estudantes brasileiros, à luz de estudos da variação linguística. Conhecer elementos que caracterizam normas linguísticas do espanhol auxilia o aprendiz a desenvolver sua consciência frente à diversidade linguística e cultural de seu idioma e do idioma que busca aprender.
