Resumo: This research aims to identify and characterize the main correlatable dimensions and elements between the reference model in knowledge management of the Brazilian Knowledge Management Society and the Cobit-2019 framework of governance in information technology. This qualitative exploratory research includes bibliographic research, construction of the conceptual model of correlation between the models considered, indication of the set of correlations and participation of specialists for validation of the established correlations. The dimension 'Physical and technological infrastructure' of the MRGC-SBGC model presented the highest correlation with the COBIT-2019 framework, pointed out by 26 identified elements. The 'Management elements' dimension was also important, with 23 correlated elements of COBIT-2019. Another four dimensions of the MRGC-SBGC model presented at least 19 elements correlated with the COBIT-2019 framework. The results indicate that knowledge management is correlated with information technology governance. The set of correlations established in this study can contribute to researchers in the sense of indicating the possibility of complementary research for a better understanding of each established correlation. In addition, the correlations indicated in this research also contribute to professionals and managers making better directed decisions for the governance and management of information and knowledge in favor of building competitive advantages. The conclusions reached reinforce the importance of a systemic and synergistic approach between the analyzed models, thus recognizing the relevance of IT governance and management and knowledge management in the current context of contemporary organizations.
