Resumo: | Mbya Guarani indigenous groups have a discourse that privileges their territories as places composed of a series of physical, economic and symbolic elements, previously prepared for them to live according to what predicts their culture and tradition. The Tekoa Pindoty, indigenous name given to Indigenous Cotinga Island, formed by Islands Cotinga and Rasa Cotinga Island, off the coast of Paraná is one on the places that have these characteristics. According to Mbya, the choice of this area was given by the presence of traces of their ancestors and by the confirmations of Nhanderu (true God) that they could live according to his teachings in this place. Thus, this article seeks to demonstrate a discussion of the process of the recent occupation Mbya Guarani in theTekoa Pindoty, as they attribute the area as an ideal place for them to live according to the precepts established by Nhanderu, and how is the relationship between teko and nhandereko, which together give life to tekoa. Another question discussed is how much of Mbya cosmological relationship with the environment near the ocean, and how the islands Cotinga and Rasa Cotinga Island and are present in the native memory. Finally, some concepts related to the use of space by Guarani prehistoric and historic groups, and their correspondence in accordance with contemporary Mbya Guarani will be presented. |

Abstract: Mbya Guarani indigenous groups have a discourse that privileges their territories as places composed of a series of physical, economic and symbolic elements, previously prepared for them to live according to what predicts their culture and tradition.
