B.Este trabalho destaca a relevância da inclusão da pessoa com deficiência visual na Biblioteca Universitária, tomando-se como base para o desenvolvimento do estudo os princípios, conceitos, métodos e técnicas da ergonomia. A pesquisa está estruturada de forma a identificar as possíveis barreiras encontradas no acesso à informação, centrada nos aspectos físicos, tecnológicos e atitudinais, como também uma referência para criação de serviços e infraestrutura disponíveis na Biblioteca. Surgiu da observação de usuários cegos e com baixa visão quando do acesso à informação através dos terminais de pesquisa da Biblioteca Setorial do Centro de Educação da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (BIBCE-UFPE). Enfatiza o papel da Biblioteca como fonte de informação, seja na graduação ou pós-graduação, tendo como função primordial o apoio à pesquisa e promoção do conhecimento. A pesquisa está pautada segundo as considerações e opiniões dos usuários cegos e com baixa visão, que utilizam a Biblioteca como fonte de pesquisa acadêmica. O objetivo é: identificar os aspectos físicos, tecnológicos e atitudinais para facilitar o acesso e o uso de Bibliotecas Universitárias, com foco no usuário com deficiência visual. A metodologia aplicada é de caráter quali-quantitativo, caracteriza-se como exploratória em uma estratégia de Pesquisa-ação, a qual possibilita condições de investigação de uma forma prática, crítica e reflexiva, focada na modalidade de Estudo de Caso. A amostra é composta por usuários com deficiência visual, alunos e servidores da Instituição, que necessitem utilizar a Biblioteca para fins de pesquisa ou em busca de material do acervo como: livros, periódicos, teses, dissertações e e-books. O estudo discute a necessidade das Bibliotecas Universitárias adotarem critérios de inclusão, contribuindo para um espaço igualitário. Baseado nos resultados obtidos, no cruzamento da coleta de dados no trabalho de campo, das informações relevantes contidas na legislação e na revisão bibliográfica, sugere-se adequações físicas e tecnológicas onde possam contemplar igualitariamente todos os usuários cegos e com baixa visão da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco. Todas as imagens deste trabalho estão audiodescritas.This work highlights the relevance of the inclusion of a person with visual impairment on the library of a university, taking as basis for the development of the study the principles, concepts, methods and techniques of ergonomics. The research is structured so that it identifies possible barriers found in the access to information, focusing on physical, technological and attitudinal aspects, as well as a reference to the creation of services and infrastructure available at the library. That arose from the observation of blind users and those with low vision when they were trying to access information all the way through the directory of the Sectorial Library of the Education Center at Federal University of Pernambuco (BIBCE-UFPE). This also emphasizes the role of a library as a source of information in the undergraduate level or postgraduate level which primary function is to support research and to promote knowledge. This research is ruled on the considerations and opinions of blind users and all of those with low vision that use the library as a source of academic research. The objective was to identify the physical, technological and attitudinal aspects in order to facilitate the access and use of the libraries in the university focusing the visually impaired users. The methodology that was applied was of qualitative-quantitative aspect, it is characterized as exploratory in an action-research strategy, which enables the conditions to the investigation in a practical, critical and reflexive way, focused on the Case Study modality. The sample is composed of users with visual impairment, students and staff of the Institution who need to use the library for research purposes or in search of material from the collection, such as books, periodicals, theses, dissertations and e-books. This study discusses the necessity of the university libraries to adopt inclusion criteria, contributing to an equalitarian space. Based on the results obtained in the intersection of the data collection in the work field, on the relevant information contained in the legislation, and on the bibliographical review, it is suggested physical and technological adaptations which can contemplate equally all the blind users and those with low vision of the Federal University of Pernambuco.
