Academic Literacy in medical training based on the National Curriculum Guidelines and the Pedagogical Project of the Course of an HEI

Resumo: This article aims at showing how Academic Literacy has been contemplated in the formation of future physicians in a private Higher Education Institution (HEI) in the northwest of Rio de Janeiro state. For this, we analyze the National Curriculum Guidelines (NCG) of the Bachelor of Medicine course, as well as the Pedagogical Project of the Course of this (PPC) showing which elements are guiding for the insertion and promotion of academic literacy in the formation of future physicians. On the methodological level, we reviewed the concepts of literacy, using bibliographic research, and, for data analysis, we anchored ourselves in documentary research. Thus, we infer some considerations of this proposal presented: academic literacy is found in the two documents analyzed through actions that involve the emphasis on teaching reading and writing in different disciplines to be taught, characterization and construction of the professional profile that is expected throughout of the process. In addition, the documents point to the need for, all the training, discussions and goals to be achieved in the development and continuity of the academic literacy of these professionals

Para isso, analisou-se as Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais (DCN) do curso de bacharelado em Medicina, assim como o Projeto Pedagógico do Curso dessa IES evidenciando quais elementos são direcionadores para inserção e promoção do letramento acadêmico na formação de futuros médicos. No plano metodológico, revisamos os conceitos de letramento, utilizando a pesquisa bibliográfica e, para a análise dos dados, ancoramo-nos na pesquisa documental. Após análise dos dados depreende-se que: o Letramento Acadêmico encontra-se nos dois documentos analisados através de ações que envolvem a ênfase no ensino de leitura e escrita em diferentes disciplinas a serem ensinadas, caracterização e construção do perfil profissional que se espera ao longo do processo.
