Resumo: The general objective of this research is to investigate the writing practices in undergraduate final papers developed by students at a public University in Brazil. Therefore, we analyzed these final papers from the guidelines of prescriptive documents of initial teacher education. The theoretical assumptions were based on the principles of socio-discursive Interactionism (BRONCKART, 2010; DOLZ, SCHNEUWLY, 2004; MACHADO, 2007), as well as on the academic literacies studies (STREET, 2014; LEA STREET, 2014; BOTELHO, 2016). The methodology is bound to a qualitative research perspective of an interpretive nature, under the scope of Applied Linguistics. The analysis of the corpus was carried out in two stages: (1) an investigation of the national curriculum guidelines and the undergraduate pedagogical projects of Geography, Music and Pedagogy courses and (2) an investigation of two samples of final papers by students from the last two courses. The results show different interpretations about the monograph genre requested by the prescriptive documents, in addition to a direct influence of practices arising from internships and extension projects in the production of the texts. We could also notice that the elaboration of the final papers as a requirement for obtaining a licentiate degree ends up collaborating as an opportunity for scientific initiation for prospective teachers

We could also notice that the elaboration of the final papers as a requirement for obtaining a licentiate degree ends up collaborating as an opportunity for scientific initiation for prospective teachersO objetivo desta pesquisa é investigar sobre as práticas de escrita em Trabalhos de Conclusão de Curso (TCC) desenvolvidos por estudantes de licenciatura, de diferentes campos disciplinares, em uma Universidade pública.
