Resumo: This study aimed at understand and interpret the Bourdieu’s conceptions about field, habitus and capital, applying them to the Nursing field. It was learned the Nursing field is moved by interests, like other fields. Between them, there is the interest of knowledge mounting, in other words, scientific capital. The habitus concept appeared to be appropriate to base the Nursing studies about the taking care process. In this way, the academic formation, the structure of the services, the professionals’ and clients’ class habitus need to be constantly considered, questioned and confronted, in order to refresh the taking care process and make it attend the evolution of knowledging in the scientific field. However, being considered that the habitus is mainly incorporate in the life’s firsts year, its job is more promising in the children taking care process, bearing in mind the incorporation of habitus that promote health and life quality.

Fue aprehendido que, a la similitud de otros, el campo de la Enfermería se mueve por los intereses, entre ellos, el de aumentar los conocimientos, en otros términos, lo capital científico. El concepto del habitus fue mostrado para basar los estudios con respecto al proceso de cuidar en enfermería. En ese sentido, la formación acadêmica, la esctrutura de los servicios, los habitus del clase de los profisionales e de los clientes necesitan constantemente ser considerados, cuestionados y confrontados para que el proceso del cuidar se actualize y acompañe la evolución del conocimiento en el campo científico. Se considerando que el habitus és principalmente incorporado en los primeros años de vida, és en el proceso del cuidar a los niños que su utilización és más promisora con vistas a la incorporación de habitus promotores de salud y calidad de vida.Este estudo teve como objetivo compreender e interpretar os conceitos bourdieusianos de campo, habitus e capital, aplicando-os ao campo de Enfermagem. Apreendeu- se que, à semelhança de outros, o campo da Enfermagem é movido por interesses, entre eles, o de acumular saberes, ou seja, capital científico. O conceito de habitus mostrou- se apropriado para fundamentar estudos referentes ao processo de cuidar em Enfermagem. Nesse sentido, a formação acadêmica, a estrutura dos serviços, os habitus de classe dos profissionais e os dos clientes precisam ser constantemente considerados, questionados e confrontados para que o processo de cuidar se atualize e acompanhe a evolução do conhecimento no campo científico.
