Defesa : Curitiba, 08/11/2018Inclui referências: p.87-89Resumo: Esta dissertação discorre a respeito do estatuto da arte sob a ótica do filósofo Arthur Danto, com enfoque na sua teoria do Mundo da Arte. Esta investigação filosófica refere-se à distinção ontológica (do ser) entre arte e não-arte. O objetivo é desenvolver uma análise descritiva de sua teoria, bem como das vicissitudes hermenêuticas da natureza da arte em sua produção filosófica. Para esse processo, utilizou-se a contextualização histórica e cultural de elementos que influenciaram seu pensamento, tais como as vanguardas artísticas norteamericanas das décadas de 1950 e 1960, notadamente a Pop Art e seu principal representante, o artista Andy Warhol. Também são elencadas as teorias com inclinação analítica que contribuíram para a construção da filosofia de Danto. O trabalho desenvolve-se a partir da análise do artigo The Artworld, publicado em 1964, que se tornou referência teórica no campo da filosofia da arte. Posteriormente, são apresentados elementos extraídos de três obras, produzidas em momentos marcantes da carreira do filósofo, que colaboraram sobremaneira para uma nova interpretação da natureza da arte. Danto conclui que apenas as teorias da arte que comportam o contexto histórico, social, cultural e político, em que a obra está inserida, podem distinguir arte de não-arte, pois são capazes de contemplar o caráter filosófico da obra. Portanto, a teoria da arte seria condição necessária para a própria arte, pois apenas ela pode apresentar o caráter hermenêutico da natureza da arte. Conclui-se que a teoria do Mundo da Arte de Danto promove o exercício da filosofia, pois o fazer e o interpretar a arte tornaram-se atos inter-relacionados, ampliando as possibilidades de compreensão do estatuto da arte. Pop Art.Abstract: This dissertation discusses the statute of art from the perspective of the philosopher Arthur Danto, focusing on his theory of the World of Art. This philosophical inquiry refers to the ontological (of being) distinction between art and non-art. The objective is to develop a descriptive analysis of his theory and as the hermeneutic vicissitudes of the nature of art in its philosophical production. For this process, the historical and cultural contextualization of elements that influenced his thinking was used, such as the North American artistic vanguards of the 1950s and 1960s, notably Pop Art and its main representative, Andy Warhol. Also listed are the analytic inclinations that contributed to the construction of Danto's philosophy. The work develops from the analysis of the article The ArtWorld, which was published in 1964 and became a theoretical reference in the field of the philosophy of art. Subsequently, elements extracted from three works that greatly collaborated for a new interpretation of the nature of art and that were produced at remarkable moments of the philosopher's career, are presented. Danto concludes that only the theories of art that carry a historical, social, cultural and political context in which the work is inserted, can distinguish art from non-art, since they are capable of contemplating the philosophical character of the work. Therefore, art theory would be a necessary condition for art itself, for it alone could present the hermeneutic character of the nature of art. It can then be concluded that Danto's World of Art theory promotes the exercise of philosophy, since making and interpreting art have become interrelated acts and have expanded the possibilities of understanding the status of art.
