Defesa: Curitiba, 23/11/2010Inclui referênciasResumo: A presente pesquisa, embora tenha a obra Winterreise de Franz Schubert (1797–1828) como objeto de estudo, configura-se como uma ferramenta metodológica ao estudo da canção de uma forma geral. Ao longo dos anos, trabalhando como pianista correpetidor, percebi a escassez de material que tratasse de uma metodologia de estudo voltada a construção da interpretação a dois, mais especificamente da canção. Franz Schubert, um jovem romântico vienense transformou definitivamente o papel do piano, que deixa de desempenhar a função de mero acompanhamento para se tornar não só num interlocutor dramático do canto lírico, como também no espaço no qual a voz humana encontrará o seu enquadramento emocional, esboçando as atmosferas e os cenários percorridos pela personagem. A contextualização histórica e social mostra-se essencial para a compreensão do Lied, ressaltando a importância do diálogo entre performance e musicologia. Para a construção da performance a dois, serão apresentadas algumas ferramentas selecionadas a partir da minha experiência como pianista correpetidor, de grande utilidade aos intérpretes. Além das ferramentas musicais conhecidas, a pesquisa volta o olhar ao texto poético, extraindo-lhe elementos que normalmente são desconhecidas ou não recebem a devida atenção. Quanto à obra Winterreise, serão feitas algumas considerações sobre a preparação da performance, incluindo a análise de três canções que compõem o ciclo: Gute Nacht, Der Lindenbaum e Der Wegweiser. Estas análises foram baseadas na experiência pessoal do autor, cujos comentários serão ilustrados e enriquecidos pelos relatos de renomados intérpretes. A intenção inicial é a de partilhar com outros intérpretes e estudiosos no campo da performance musical, um material de suporte para o estudo em conjunto, visando a construção de uma interpretação.Abstract: This research, although focusing on the work Winterreise by Franz Schubert (1797–1828) as an object of study, is a methodological tool for the study of art song in general. Working as a coach over the last few years, I have come to realize that there is a scarcity in material available regarding how to study the interpretation of chamber music by a duo, especially in the area of art song. The young romantic Viennese, Franz Schubert, was instrumental in transforming the role of the piano from one of mere accompaniment to not only interlocutor to dramatic bel canto , but also providing the framework in which the human voice can find it‘s emotional framework, outlining the atmosphere and scenes experienced by the character. Social and historical backgrounds are essential to the understanding of the Lied, and stress the importance of a dialogue between musicology and performance. Very useful interpretative tools will be presented within the context of a piano/voice duo, and are based on my work as a coach. Alongside these musical tools, this research paper also focuses on the poetic text, drawing information from it which is either little-known or commonly overlooked. In the analysis of Winterreise some considerations are made regarding the preparation of the performance, focusing on three of the songs from the cycle: Gute Nacht, Der Wegweiser and Der Lindenbaum. This analysis is based on my personal experience supported by commentaries by a number of famous composers.
