Para tanto utilizou-se das imagens e registros dos artistas plásticos que produziram no Brasil no século XIX, dos quais, muitos eram integrantes de missões culturais estrangeiras que vinham ao Brasil para registrar os costumes, tradições e diversidade do país. Fez-se uma análise, através destas imagens inventariadas, das relações sociais, festas, hábitos e buscou-se saber qual o papel dos alimentos e bebidas nestas diferentes situações. A importância da gastronomia como elo integrador das atividades que eram realizadas pela sociedade brasileira do século XIX, em especial no Rio de Janeiro e São Paulo, cidades de maior importância social, política e econômica da época. O projeto proposto por este trabalho foi de uma exposição de artes no Museu Oscar Niemeyer, com o objetivo de oferecer ao público um olhar diferenciado sobre arte e gastronomia no Brasil do século XIX, estimulando e oportunizando este evento ao turismo de Curitiba.Abstract : This study aimed to investigate how were the representations of food and drink, so as the gastronomy of the nineteenth century in Brazil was represented by the visual arts. For that, we used the images and records of artists that produced in Brazil in the nineteenth century, of which many were members of foreign cultural missions coming to Brazil to register the customs, traditions and diversity of the country. There was an analysis by these inventoried images, social relations, parties, habits and sought to know what the role of food and drinks in these different situations.
