Bovídeos são criados atualmente em várias regiões do mundo. Na América, estão presentes em todos os países com exceção do Chile e Canadá. Tem grande destaque para o Brasil. A região marajoara apresenta ótimas condições para a adaptação do bubalino que, por sua vez, é um animal rústico mas este não se viu livre de endoparasitos, uma vez que, quando presente em grande número no hospedeiro, pode acarretar danos à saúde do animal bem como perdas econômicas para os criadores. Um dos exemplos que temos ainda pouco relatada na literatura científica é a família Paramphistomidae presente no rúmen e retículo de bovídeos. As formas adultas do parasito são, geralmente, consideradas assintomáticas. Tais formas possuem como sítio de infecção as porções do rúmen e retículo dos ruminantes. De maneira oposta, as formas imaturas, tem como local de predileção o intestino delgado e são responsáveis pela paranfistomose, doença de reação inflamatória que culmina em diarreia, causando graves prejuízos. O presente trabalho justifica-se por ser relevante na identificação dos helmintos responsáveis pela referida parasitose tendo em vista a carência de identificações taxonômicas recentes de Paramphitomidae sp bem como sugerir o controle deles. Estas são, pois, ações relevantes para que não se tenha quedas na produção, além de se evitar a transmissão desses patógenos para outros animais. Com isto, este trabalho tem como objetivo investigar a ocorrência de Trematoda Digenea da família Paramphistomidae em bovídeos oriundos de alguns municípios do nordeste do Pará. As amostras dos helmintos foram obtidas em abatedouros frigoríficos e feita a análise em microscopia de luz bem como microscopia eletrônica de varredura e extração de DNA com a reação em cadeia de polimerase (PCR) e, desta maneira, foi verificada a classificação taxonômica do helminto estudado. Com base no que foi observado a partir do processamento das análises é possível inferir que trata-se de uma nova espécie de helminto da família Paramphistomidae, gênero Cotylophoron.Trematodes of the Paramphistomidae family, having been one of the great phases, considering the cattle, there is a high prevalence of these problems in the rumen and reticulum of these hosts in adults. bovids are currently bred in several regions of the world. One of the few reported examples that we have in scientific papers is the Paramphistomidae family present in the rumen and reticulum of bovids. Adult forms of the parasite are generally considered asymptomatic. Such forms have as infection site the portions of the rumen and reticulum of ruminants. Conversely, the immature forms have the small intestine as their predilection site and are responsible for paramphistomosis, a disease with an inflammatory reaction that culminates in diarrhea, causing serious damages. The present paper is justified for being relevant in the identification of the helminths responsible for the afore mentioned parasitosis, considering the lack of recent taxonomic identifications of Paramphitomidae sp, as well as suggesting their control. These are, therefore, relevant actions in order to avoid drops in production, and halt the transmission of these pathogens to other animals. Thus, this work aims to investigate the occurrence of Trematoda Digenea of the Paramphistomidae family in bovine animals from northeastern Pará on Pará State. Helminth samples were obtained from slaughterhouses in some municipalities in northeastern Pará and analyzed using light microscopy as well as scanning electron microscopy and DNA extraction with the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and so, the taxonomic classification of the studied helminth was checked.
