Resumo: The microregion of Guama constitutes the largest center of citrus production in the state of Pará, which ranks seventh on the national scene. The soils of the microregion are low natural fertility, which has contributed to a productivity below the national average. This study aims to evaluate the chemical characteristics of the soil in the rows and between rows of orange trees exposed to different levels of management. Six representative orchards of the micro-PA Guama, all with cultivation of 'Pera' orange (Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck) grafted on Rangpur lime (Citrus limonia Osbeck) were selected. Was selected, also a naturally reforested area with more than 30 years, with similar soil characteristics to the orchards. In the selection of orchards, led into account the levels of low, medium and high management, defined as the quantity of inputs and cultural practices used. Considered the uniformity of soils (dystrophic Yellow dystrophic) and plants (seven years deployed). The content of organic matter, P and K and micronutrients Cu and Mn were the most limiting soil of citrus orchards in the region under study chemical characteristics, which are below levels considered adequate.

Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia/UFRA2011-03-28info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://ajaes.ufra.edu.br/index.php/ajaes/article/view/159Amazonian Journal of Agricultural Sciences Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences; Vol 50 No 1 (2008): RCA; 47 - 62Revista de Ciências Agrárias Amazonian Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences; v. 50 n. 1 (2008): RCA; 47 - 622177-87601517-591Xreponame:Revista de Ciências Agrárias (Belém.
