ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: DESCRIBING THE COMMMITMENT AND NON-COMMITMENT WITH ORGANIZATIONS

Resumo: | In this study, the characterization of organizational commitment standards, established in an earlier work, which has validated the conceptualization model of three components of organizational commitment established by Meyer and Allen (1991) was performed. The research was based on 373 interviews carried out among employees and their supervisors in 201 companies in the State of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The personal characteristics and their dimensions which differentiate the established commitment standards were identified. In order to identify the dimensions of the personal characteristics, it was applied the factorial analysis and to identify the personal characteristics and its dimensions, which differentiate the organizational commitment standards, it was used the ANÁLISE DE VARIANCIA. As a result, we presented the personal characteristics of commitments and of non-commitments with organizations. In this study, the BI-DIMENSIONALIDADE of the control locus, as it was conceptualized by Spector (1988) was also confirmed. |

La investigacíon entrevistó 373 empleados y sus supervisores en 201 empresas en el estado del Rio Grande do Norte. Fueron identificadas las características personales y sus dimensiones que diferencian los padrones de comprometimiento establecidos. Para identificar las dimensiones de características personales aplicamos la técnica del análisis factorial y para identificar las características personales y sus dimensiones, que diferencian los padrones de comprometimiento organizacional, utilizamos análisis de variancia. Como resultado presentamos las características personales de los comprometidos y de los descomprometidos con las organizaciones. En este estudio, también fue confirmada la bidimensionalidad del locus de control, como conceptualizado por Spector (1988).Neste estudo, foi realizada a caracterização dos padrões de comprometimento organizacional, estabelecidos em estudo anterior, que validou o modelo de conceitualização de três componentes do comprometimento organizacional de Meyer e Allen (1991). A pesquisa entrevistou 373 empregados e seus supervisores em 201 empresas no estado do Rio Grande do Norte. Foram identificadas as características pessoais e suas dimensões que diferenciam os padrões de comprometimento estabelecidos. Para identificar as dimensões de características pessoais aplicamos a técnica da análise fatorial e para identificar as características pessoais e suas dimensões, que diferenciam os padrões de comprometimento organizacional, utilizamos análise de variância. Como resultado apresentamos as características pessoais dos comprometidos e dos descomprometidos com as organizações.
