ACADEMIC FORMATION OF MANAGERS: A STUDY AT THE HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS OF NATAL

Resumo: This article deals with a study conducted in the period of November/2000 to March/2001, at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Natalense Faculty to the Development of Rio Grande do Norte (FARN), Faculties of Natal (FAL) and Science, Culture and Extension Faculty of RN (FACEX), with an aim to identify the knowledge, abilities, values and attitudes present in the academic formation of managers at the higher education institutions of Natal. Methodologically, it is a descriptive-exploratory study about the higher education institutions of Natal. Among the study’s main conclusions, the following stand out: the pedagogic projects of the courses with respect to knowledge and abilities are very similar; there is no concern with values and attitudes in the pedagogic projetcs; the values and attitudes are transmitted through the professor’s posture in the class room and the need to rethink the pedagogic projects to incorporate the values and attitudes dimensions.

Metodologicamente, se trata de un estudio descritivo exploratorio con las IES de la ciudad de Natal. De entre las principales conclusiones del estudio, se destacan: los proyectos pedagógicos de los cursos en lo que se refiere a conocimientos y habilidades son mucho semejantes; ausencia de preocupaciones con valores y actitudes en los proyectos pedagógicos; los valores y actitudes son transmitidos a través de la postura del profesor en clase de aula y la necesidad de repensar los proyectos pedagógicos para incorporar las dimensiones, valores y actitudes.Este artigo trata de um estudo realizado no período de nov/2000 a mar/2001, na Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Faculdade Natalense para o Desenvolvimento do Rio Grande do Norte (FARN), Faculdades de Natal (FAL) e Faculdade de Ciências, Cultura e Extensão do RN (FACEX), com o objetivo de identificar quais os conhecimentos, habilidades, valores e atitudes presentes na formação acadêmica do administrador nas IES da cidade do Natal. Metodologicamente, trata-se de um estudo descritivo-exploratório com as IES da cidade do Natal.
