Analysis of nursing records in a surgical ward of a public teaching hospital.

Resumo: This article presents a systematic descriptive and retrospective study on nursing notes on patients admitted to the surgical ward of a teaching hospital in Londrina, Paraná, Brazil, which aimed at their systematic analisys. Results show that the largest number of notes was made during the morning shift, and most of them were made by nurse auxiliaries. As to basic needs, psychobiological records were the most frequent, whereas there no psychospiritual records were found. It was concluded that nursing notes must be improved, and take into account integral care of patients

Los resultados mostraron que los acontecimientos acaecidos durante el período de la mañana son los más registrados por el equipo de enfermería, y que la categoría profesional auxiliar realiza el mayor número de esas anotaciones. De las necesidades básicas, el área sociobiológica es la más anotada, y no se ha encontrado referencia acerca del área psico-espiritual en ninguno de los prontuarios analizados. De esto se deduce que los apuntes de enfermería necesitan ser mejorados y complementados en su totalidad, con el fin de ofrecer asistencia integral al pacienteTrata-se de um estudo descritivo, retrospectivo sobre anotações de enfermagem de pacientes internados em uma unidade cirúrgica de um hospital-escola da cidade de Londrina, Paraná, Brasil, tendo por objetivo a análise sistemática das mesmas. Os resultados mostraram o período da manhã como o mais anotado pela equipe de enfermagem e a categoria profissional auxiliar executa o maior número dessas anotações. Das necessidades básicas, a área psciobiológica é a mais anotada e a pscioespiritual não foi referida em nenhum dos prontuários analisados.
