Leadership and Communication: construction of an instrument of measurement to undergraduate nursing students

Resumo: Leadership and communication are themes of importance for the development of Nurse’s work so that the upbringing of this professional needs to begin in the undergarduate course and continue through professional life. The present study aimed to identify the knowledge of students of the 4th year of the Nursing School of a public University about leadership na communication. In order to achieve this goal, the authors elaborated an instrument and submitted it to apparent and content validation, pilot test and statistic treatment. Data was collected through the application of the instrument to 67 students in October of 1998. The analysis of the results indicated that the students showed knowledge about leadership and communication, although they did not affirm that what they had learned it in the Undergraduate Course about it was enugh.

El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar el conocimiento que alumnos del 4º año del curso de pregrado tienen sobre liderazgo y comunicación. Para alcanzar el objetivo propuesto los autores elaboraron un instrumento, lo cual fue sometido a validación aparente y de contenido, teste piloto y tratamento estadístico. La colecta de datos fue realizada a través de aplicación del instrumento en 67 alumnos, en octubre de 1998. La análisis de los resultados indicó que los alumnos participantes de este estudío demonstraron conocimiento sobre liderazgo y comunicación, aúnque afirmaren no ser suficiente el aprendizaje en el pregrado.A liderança e a comunicação são temáticas de suma importância para o desenvolvimento do trabalho do enfermeiro, assim a formação deste profissional deve ter início na graduação e prosseguir de forma contínua na vida profissional. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo identificar o conhecimento que os alunos do 4º ano de graduação, de uma instituição pública, têm sobre liderança e comunicação. Para o alcance do objetivo proposto elaborou-se um instrumento, o qual foi submetido à validação aparente e de conteúdo, teste piloto e tratamento estatístico. Realizou-se a coleta de dados através da aplicação do instrumento em 67 alunos, em outubro de 1998.
