Resumo: This article aims to analyse the role played by airlift in the German driving of the Second World War. The purpose is to demonstrate how this component was a decisive factor for Germany at the time. Thus, the starting point is a theoretical study to verify the concept of Blitzkrieg inserted in the literature. Hence, the relevance of the airborne component, the combined Arms and the air logistics is analysed at the war planning levels. Next, the cases of the Demyansk Pocket and the Battle of Stalingrad are discussed as a way of assessing the possibilities and limits of air transport in the Eastern War.Finally, Blitzkrieg is approached in order to compare it with the operations and the military doctrine of the present time.

O problema de pesquisa é investigar a relação da cosmovisão de Boyd - a promoção do caos e o aumento da entropia - com aspectos da FSP americana pós-1991. A cosmovisão, epistemologia e método no pensamento de Boyd são brevemente analisados. Em seguida, buscam-se os pontos de contato com as teorias do Idealismo e do Realismo e, por fim, são discutidos os motivos da ausência de uma grande estratégia americana. O principal argumento é que o pensamento de Boyd nos permite traçar várias relações com teóricos que influenciaram a Política Externa e de Segurança dos Estados Unidos. Quanto à tradição idealista, ela se dá em um mundo dominado pelo caos, no caso de Boyd, e sem o Estado-nação, como propõe Creveld. Com os neorrealistas, o paralelo é entre o papel da projeção de poder e o medo como elemento da política externa dos Estados Unidos.
