Resumo: Este trabalho, ligado ao projeto “Leitor, tradutor, autor: A tradução como leitura e exercício autoral”, objetiva realizar uma análise comparativa de duas traduções da língua inglesa para a língua portuguesa da obra The Nightingale and the Rose, de Oscar Wilde, publicada em 1888: a de Bárbara Heliodora e a de Sigrid Renaux. A evidente diferença entre as traduções instiga à análise das influências que interferem na construção do texto. Este estudo transcende a comparação entre as palavras utilizadas por cada profissional, prevalecendo a análise da relação leitor-tradutor-autor à luz dos conceitos de Obra Aberta, segundo o qual o texto ofereceria diferentes caminhos interpretativos a serem percorridos por cada leitor de forma individual; e de Leitor-Modelo, no qual a criação do texto direcionaria a leitura para uma determinada interpretação e para um leitor específico.

The evident differences between the translations encourage the analysis of the influences that interfere in creation of the text.
