Stylistic analysis and economy of montage in Cinédia (1940-1946)

Resumo: The article proposes a stylistic analysis of seven films produced by Cinédia in the 1940s, taking into account the company's economy of montage and its production method. In view of the gap on the stylistic continuities of Adhemar Gonzaga’s company, the study about the collective style emphasizes the formal recurrences of four technical procedures: shot-reverse-shot, long take, mobile framing and staging in depth. Observing whether the genre, the budget and the filming conditions may have been integrated into the internal structure of the works, the proposal intends to evaluate how such procedures are related to the pace of montage and the spatial configuration of the works.

Face à lacuna sobre as continuidades estilísticas da companhia de Adhemar Gonzaga, o estudo sobre o estilo coletivo enfatiza as recorrências formais de quatro procedimentos técnicos: campocontracampo, plano longo, enquadramento móvel e encenação em profundidade.
