Resumo: Drawing from an ethnographic approach, I analyze in this article the appropriation of cell phones in their intersections with gender relations. I discuss the ways by which technology is appropriated to reaffirm love ties, but also becomes the focus of surveillance, tension and conflict. In this sense, I argue that cell phones engender micropolitics of everyday life in which men and women interact in sociocultural dynamics that reflect gender hierarchies, but also subvert them.

En este sentido, se argumenta que los teléfonos celulares generan micropoliticas del cotidiano en que los hombres y mujeres interactúan en dinámicas socioculturales que reflejan las jerarquías de género, sino también las subverten.A partir de uma abordagem etnográfica, analiso neste artigo as múltiplas apropriações dos telefones celulares em suas intersecções com as relações de gênero.
