Resumo: The 1970s represent the beginning of the consolidation process of talk show in the Brazilian television grid. Its relevance is associated with the fall of the military dictatorship and the redemocratization process in the country. Despite the historical importance of talk show, there is still little literature on such type of television show in Brazil. This article seeks to indicate paths toward defining the cultural history of Brazilian talk shows, taking into account three aspects: the social-cultural context, the context of television, and the formal structure of the shows.

Su relevancia está asociada al debilitamiento de la dictadura militar y al proceso de redemocratización del país. A pesar de la importancia histórica de los talk shows periodísticos, la bibliografía disponible sobre esta modalidad de programación en Brasil aún es escasa. El presente artículo tiene como objetivo señalar algunos caminos para una historia cultural de talks shows brasileños tomándose en cuenta tres aspectos: el contexto sociocultural,Os anos 1970 representam o início do processo de consolidação de talk shows na grade televisiva brasileira. Sua relevância está associada ao enfraquecimento da ditadura militar e o processo de redemocratização do país. Apesar da importância histórica, a bibliografia disponível sobre essa modalidade da programação, no Brasil, ainda é escassa. O presente artigo tem como objetivo apontar alguns caminhos para uma história cultural de talk shows jornalísticos brasileiros levando-se em conta três aspectos: o contexto sócio-cultural, o contexto televisivo e as configurações formais dos programas.
